Note that, although Richard Dalby, the editor of ''The Virago Book of Ghost Stories: The Twentieth Century'', stated that Lambe's 1924 story "The Return" was the same as G. G. Pendarves's 1927 story "The Return", textual comparison of the two stories shows that they are completely different. This error also appears in and elsewhere.
