An ex-librarian and professional folksinger with the a cappella group Artisan. She writes long and short fiction and lives on the edge of the Yorkshire Pennines in Northern England with her husband, songwriter Brian Bedford. She sold her first short story in 1998, which qualified her to attend the Milford SF writers' conference in the UK of which she became one of the organizers. (www.milfordSF.co.uk).
