His 1955 novel Gretta was the (very loose) basis for the mid-1980's John Carr film The Dark Side To Love, which was re-titled Death Wish Club and also Carnival of Fools when released on VHS; a shortened and re-edited version with added stop-motion special effects was released as part of the anthology film Night Train to Terror (1985), which included the full cut of Carr's film under its original title of Gretta as an extra in the 2013 Blu-Ray/DVD release.
