According to <a href="http://www.thebookseller.com/news/i-felt-interloper-sneaking-through-friends-house-478201">this joint interview</a>, Hacker Murphy was originally supposed to be Tommy Donbavand's personal pseudonym to be used for the "The Creeper Files" series. However, Donbavand couldn't complete the first volume due to cancer therapy. It was finished by Barry Hutchison". Hutchison also wrote the second book based on Donbavand's plot. Donbavand then wrote book 3 in the series.
