His work explores community, identity, giftedness, disability, magic, addiction, and botany, and seeks to provide the marginalized communities to which he belongs with stories that are <i>by</i> and <i>for</i> as well as about them. He is troubled by the underlying assumptions of literary fiction, and honestly believes he can save the world with semantics."
