Painter, illustrator and cartoonist, who studied art at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Rhine Province, Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire, and who took in 1933 exile in Czechoslovakia, and 1938 in Norway. He remains most prominent for his work for the satirical magazine Simplicissimus.
