The Hidden City, City of Night, and House Name are the first three volumes of The House War. Michelle has also written numerous highly memorable short stories. She has also worked in a Science Fiction and Fantasy bookstore since 1986, and even managed it for a number of years, and she still loves getting out of the house and going to work because it is full of books. The very best part of the job is, and has always been, matching said books with people who will love them. She reviews books for F&SF, which gives her the chance to do the same thing on a larger scale. This was a compromise choice as Michelle wanted the books published as Michelle Sagara while the publisher preferred Michelle West as Bookscan data was available to show sales under that name. </ul>
