"With notes and questions by A. J. J. Ratcliff, M.A." --title page "First published, September 1940" --copyright page [Currey]

WorldCat records (OCLC, below) inadequately report the two volumes jointly. OCLC 15373712 alone lists the contents of vol. 221 alone. Currey notes "all stories reprinted from earlier books" but doesn't list them; Contento does not cover this collection.

Internet Archive provides a low-quality OCR scan of this volume from Delhi University Library. Roman numeral page numbers are not evident. The Contents list is entirely legible and likely to be page iii. Copyright page apparently states:   First published in this series September 1940   Reprinted 1944, 1945, 1947, 1948[?]

The "notes and questions" by Ratcliff constitute the last chapter alone: an 8-page essay that incorporates two numbered lists of short story elements and 12 pages of numbered items for "Discussion or Composition", one section for each story and one "General". The essay portion closes with this note (p206): N.B. — Two of the longer stories in this book are printed in incomplete form so that the reader may invent and write up his own completion.
