"First Edition" stated on copyright page. Cover artist credited on front jacket flap Currey lists 6 hardcover bindings. This one is first state, dark greenish-blue cloth, gold lettering on spine and pink endpapers. "Son of Daddy!" by Jack L. Chalker in Fantasy Newsletter No. 62, September 1983 states that 1400 copies were printed of which 750 were clothbound, 300 were later bound into Fantasy Twin (1953) and 350 sold for Pick-a-Book.
