This is the second book in this series although it was renumbered when it was re-issued.
- Stated first printing on the copyright page.
- First printing per the number line that is found on the book's copyright page.
- Preludes II: Volume Two on the cover, but the numbering is changed when later reissued to Preludes: Volume Five.
- The maps are signed "SulliVan", with a doubled "S", which is the signature of Steve Sullivan.
- There are twenty-four chapters plus an epilogue and a prologue, each sporting a half-page black-and-white line illustration by Valerie Valusek.
