It is not clear that the smaller illustrations are by Deming but the title page of the longer 1909 edition states "Illustrated by Edwin Willard Deming"
Judging by the later printings at HDL, this edition omits the last seven of 27 stories, one leaf between every pair of stories, and a few illustrations; the Suggestions and Glossary are new
