The text of this play is available from the Univ. of Pennsylvania.
This play was first performed in 1823, and various OCLC records give published dates of the format "[1823?]" or "[1824?]", but are referring to the 1883 publication in "Dicks' Standard Plays", as does Wikipedia's picture of the cover of Peake's play. Cornell Univ., in {{OCLC|63959534}} specifies a publication by "[J. Duncombe, 1824?]", but this may be a miscataloging of the Milner play (they admit that the title was supplied, and remark that the play is "Based partly on Mrs. Shelley's novel Frankenstein and partly on a French work," which describes the Milner play).
The play was titled "Presumption; or, the Fate of Frankenstein", Wikipedia lists the play publication under the same name. WorldCat lists it both as "Frankenstein", the name on the cover of the publication, and as "Frankenstein. A Romantic Drama, in Three Acts." We list it as "Presumption", since that appears to be how it is best known.
