A poor old tailor falls ill before he can finish an important commission for the Mayor of Gloucester's wedding on Christmas Day. The mice who live behind his wainscotting take it upon themselves to aid the kindly tailor (who has saved a great many of them from being eaten by Simpkin the cat) by completing the suit.
