The listed author claims to be the "editor" of this "true story". As discussed in SFE, this appears to be a pseudonym for "H. Cowen", of whom we know no more. One "Print on Demand" company claims that the authors were "Stephen Howard and Carl Geister", but give no justification; that claim is not supported by either Currey nor SFE. You will find them as the protagonists of the story.
- Long title: "The History of a Voyage to the Moon, with an Account of the Adventurers' Subsequent Discoveries. An Exhumed Narrative, supposed to have been ejected from a Lunar Volcano"
- First edition. Lithographed frontispiece. 8vo, pebble-grain green cloth with gilt-lettered spine
- Data from Swann Auction Galleries and from L.W. Currey
- See also Notes by a WorldCat library on the 1865 French language edition, {{OCLC|20780884}} --concerning pseud. contributors Stephen Howard, Carl Geister and Chrysostom Trueman, and (French only) Alexandre Cathelineau
- {{Reginald1}} and {{Bleiler78}} suggest that this was published without an author credit.
