Contains three pieces: Michael Marshall Smith's novelette "The Gist", Benoît Domis's French translation of the novelette and Nicholas Royle's re-translation of the French text back to English.

• "First Edition" stated on the copyright page.
• The title page credits the three authors, even though this is a collection of three different versions of the same story by Smith. The second version is a French translation by Domis of the original story. The third is an English translation by Royle of the second version.
• "Dust jacket illustration Copyright © 2013 by Michael Marshall Smith." (over) "Interior design Copyright © 2013 by Michael Marshall Smith." stated on the copyright page.
• No stated publication date. The date for this record from Amazon.com, which is corroborated by a shipping announcement on the publisher's website.
• Fully clothbound, and printed in two colors (black and red) throughout. The text is presented in two columns, and the pull quotes (printed in red) are taken from the other versions and not the one in which they appear.
• The afterword appears on an unnumbered following the last numbered page. It is not credited, but there is an acknowledgements at the end which makes it clear that it was written by Smith.
• The publisher also announced a limited edition of 300 signed, numbered copies, bound in leather for $60.00.
