From Worldcat: "A story of a lost treasure found and lost again along with a greater loss, of life and peace of mind."
- The book is presented as fact - the title page has "As told to Gary Crew & Peter Gouldthoupe", and there are letters and other items allegedly from the "source". However, although it is difficult to determine if it is fact or not, I've assumed that it is fiction. [... clarkmci]
- It is included in ISFDB because it seems to have supernatural elements, such as in the chapter "A Final Journey" near the end.
- Large format - 28cm.
- No printed price.
- Re the "authors" - title page has "As told to Gary Crew & Peter Gouldthoupe".
- The book is illustrated, including the end papers - some are credited reproductions of historical paintings / drawings/ photos. Others are (allegedly?) by the source of the story. Other illustrations /photos / document scans are uncredited, though are possibly by one or both of the authors. Note that Peter Gouldthorpe is an artist, although the statement on the copyright page - "Cover and text design by David Salter" - might have some bearing.
- Re Cover art - the background seems to be an historical map (by "H. Purcell") which is also included in the body of the book. One of the green stones is also included in the body of the book (seemingly uncredited).
"Cover and text design by David Salter". - Probably doesn't have a dust jacket; the cover shown is printed on paper glued to the boards.
