David McKay books often went through additional printings with no indication of the printing number, and this may be one of those books. There are no differences known to us between possibly different printings, and no apparent evidence of multiple printings, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. It is possible that there could be later printings that have substituted b&w drawings for the color plates in the first printing. There are 3 color plates in the verifier's copy, facing pp. 177, 214, 234. All editions known to us are bound in red cloth with a paste-on color plate on the cover.
