Notes
An early novelette version was published on Alexander's site, thehandlesspoet.com, in 2001 (copyrighted 1997). She adapted it to a screenplay which was a 1999 Quarterfinalist in the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, and said "I'm currently adapting this to novel"; the novel wasn't published until 2014.
