This revised edition of the original 1948 edition does not attempt to extend the original. It covers the same time period (up through 1948) and adds omitted titles and corrections.

There are unnumbered pages before the start of the Roman numbered pages, but with no indexed content. There are also two unnumbered pages (1 blank) between the last Roman numbered and the first Arabic numbered pages. There are also 6 additional unnumbered pages (2 blank) after page 266 containing house ads. This totals to 304 pp. Additionally, "Explanation of Symbols Used in this Book" appears on the inside pasted endpaper in the front, and the unpasted side of the endpaper at the end (duplicated in each location).
