In the 1903 "Prefatory Note", Roberts says the new "edition is enlarged by the inclusion of three new stories" (and is illustrated). Newspaper coverage describes it as enlarged, even "nearly double the size" (NY Times 1903-03-07 pBR11). But three stories are dropped, including the last and longest.
