26 1-page stories, one for each letter of the alphabet, each containing many words that begin with that letter. An introduction and conclusion featuring words of each letter, counting up in the former and down in the latter. Stories feature the characters from the Mary Poppins books, and make reference to events there. While most stories are not actually speculative fiction, "O", "P", "T", "U", and "V" are.
