  • The sketch of the author is signed and dated 1880-10-19. According to snippets available on Google Books, it is the same sketch published in The Poems and Stories of Fitz-James O'Brien (James R. Osgood and Company, 1881).
  • A Price of $1.00 was found for a cloth copy in the January 30, 1886 issue of Publishers Weekly. The March 7, 1885 issue of publisher's Weekly mentions the upcoming release of two new titles by Scribner's with this title being one and states "both in cloth and paper covers". But I could find no price mentioned for a cloth copy until the Jan. 1886 issue, although the paper issue and price were mentioned in several 1885 issues. My Friend Douglas Anderson found a mention for both a Cloth and a Paper issue in the May 1885 "Book News". So that leads one to be believe that both were released at the same time (around April 1885). Although I still find it odd that this was not listed in Publishers Weekly.
