This title may have been announced in 2001 and had its publication delayed to December 2005.
The Tor Dec-2005 0-312-87527-4 edition has a 2005 copyright and an introduction by James Frenkel that's dated March 1, 2005.
Anomalies in this work's publication:
- Multiple sites mention an April 2001 or sometimes 2002 printing date for 0-312-87527-4.
- Many of those sites also show a different cover than the published editions. This cover is visible on Fantastic Fiction. Locus states that the Jan-2006 book club printing has a David Gallo cover but the verified book club edition has the standard Digital Art cover.
- A Jan-2008 Google search finds no evidence for physical copies of the book before the 2005 publication nor any with a David Gallo cover.

Platinum Pohl was published before 2005 and/or has the cover shown on Fantastic Fiction, and/or has a David Gallo cover, then please add a publication record to ISFDB for it.
- "First Edition: December 2005" stated on the copyright page with a complete number line: "0 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1".
- The complete Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data is provided on the copyright page including the ISBN (0-312-87527-4), the EAN (978-0-312-87527-5), and the LCCN: (2005043965).
- "Edited by James Frenkel" stated on the copyright page.
- Each story is preceded by a brief introduction by the editor.
- There is a "Copyright Acknowledgments" (pages 461-463) which includes the original publication data for each story.
- There is a brief "About the Author" on an unnumbered page [464] facing the back loose endpaper.
