Second in a series, in a sense:
This may have been marketed as a companion to The Resident Witch (1970), by the same writer and illustrator. There Witcheena, and here Witchard, are young girl and boy witches, perhaps of the same extra-terrestrial race, in adventures with human schoolchildren.
Evidently The First Astrowitches (1984) is a sequel to both.
