{{Tr|an unknown hand}}. This translation begins: (Chapter 1) ""On the 26th of July, 1864, under a strong gale from the northeast, a magnificent yacht was steaming at full speed through the waves of the North Channel. The flag of England fluttered at her yard-arm, while at the top of the mainmast floated a blue pennon, bearing the initials E.G., worked in gold and surmounted by a ducal coronet." Part 2 begins: (Chapter 27) "The first moments were consecrated to the happiness of meeting. Lord Glenarvan did not wish the joy in the hearts of his friends to be chilled by tidings of their want of success. his first words, therefore, were,- "Courage, my friends, courage! Captain Grant is not with us, but we are sure to find him."" Part 3 begins: (Chapter 44) "If ever the searchers of Captain Grant had reason to despair of seeing him again, was it not when every hope forsook them at once? To what part of the country should they venture a new expedition? how explore unknown countries?"
