Bleiler's Science-Fiction: The Early Years and SFE3 state that the original serialization ran from July 9 through September 20 of Golden Hours. However, there was probably not a September 20, 1892 issue which would require the issue to switch the day of the week it was published. Assuming that the September 20 date is a missprint and should be September 10, which would keep it on the right day of the week and keep it in line with other Golden Hours serials which were ususally be published in 10 parts. Novel length was chosen based on two book publications.
