The book's original english-language manuscript remained unpublished for some two decades. As part of the German BattleTech line, the text of the first two 'Founding of the Clans' novels were translated and published before the original. Author and publisher decided later to revise the first two books, creating new, authoritative versions that were expanded over the originals and partly rewritten. The authoritative version was published on 2021-10-27
