- Library of Congress (LCCN, below) reports "[1st American ed.]" and "1968 [c1950]". Keigwin translated numerous Andersen fairy tales during the 1930s to 1950s or later. A 3-volume 1950 edition appears to be the earliest comprehensive publication. See the short story record.
- Cover(?) image from Amazon.com 2023-01-05 as Hardcover and "Atheneum; First Edition (January 1, 1968)". Amazon (below, ASIN US only) provides two images. The one displayed here may be an unusually spare front book cover, presumably distributed with a dust jacket, or an unusually decorated half-title page. The other is a title page that states "Atheneum 1969 New York", which is likely to be that of a 2nd printing. See also the 3rd printing, October 1971.
