Each story is preceded by a brief introduction/blurb, from 1 paragraphs to most of a page. These are apparently by Price, but not explicitly credited. They give information about the author, and about the history of the story and its connections to others both in the volume and out. Some include literary critical comment. (-DES July 09) The 4 Lin Carter poems from Dreams from R'lyeh are grouped as "Litany to Hastur" which is in turn grouped with the other two Carter pieces as "Tatters of the King" which is how these items are listed in the table of contents.
