- Stories are divided into two sections: "On the Record" (pages 1-176) and "Off the Record" (pages 177-364.) On page 1, "On the Record" stories are described as "Stories selected from American and English magazines, none of which has ever appeared in any previous anthology." On page 177, "Off the Record" stories are described as "Stories which have never before appeared in print in any country. Some of them were especially written for 'Future Tense', while others failed to please magazine editors for one reason or another."
