Utopia is a modernized version of the 1551 translation by Ralphe Robynson (Ralph Robinson). The Abbey of Theleme is from the translation by Thomas Urquhart. Of the Cannibals (Des Cannibals) is taken from the 1603 translation of Montaigne's Essays by John Florio. Gonzalo's Speech is from Act II, Scene I of The Tempest. The City of the Sun is from the abbreviated translation by Thomas W. Halliday. Though not stated, Bacon's New Atlantis appears to be a modernized version.
