- 9 stories were published September 1909 to August 1910 in the US-based New York and London monthly The Delineator, from issue 74:3, p. 196. There was no story in the March to May 1910 issues. Numbered in the sequence of book chapters, the sequence of magazine stories is 1 9 3 2 8 11 10 6 7.
"A Note from The Editor" explains the significance of the series (76:1, p. 69, perhaps printed at the end of each story).
