Tuck gives this as a novelization of two previously published stories, while Contento gives it as a collection. Verifier please determine which type is correct. This is indisputably a novel, based on three previous stories ("The Phantom Dictator" (Astounding, 1935), "The Time-Lockers" (Science Fiction Quarterly, 1956), and "BEMA" (Science Fiction Quarterly, 1957)). The novel is essentially an expansion of "The Time-Lockers", with "The Phantom Dictator", much changed, grafted onto the ending of the book; and "BEMA" incorporated as a small episode in the book.
