Full text published by Twayne in "The Petrified Planet" in 1952. The serialization in ''Space Science Fiction'' was significantly abridged. Text restored for the 1983 Ace edition.

HTML ebook. From the transcriber's note: "This etext was produced from Space Science Fiction, February and March, 1953." It includes black & white illustrations from that magazine, & two color illustrations. A credit "ILLUSTRATED BY ORBAN" is given, but it is not clear what it includes; the first color illustration shows a signature (initials?) which I can't quite make out; however, it does not look at all like "Orban". The author's name is given as Henry Beam Piper, but the interior text gives it as H. Beam Piper. A note before the text says: "Produced by Greg Weeks, Sankar Viswanathan, and the Online Distributed Proofreading Team at http://www.pgdp.net". I see no indication of where content was divided between issues.
