The second Skolian novel written, it takes place far into the future and almost entirely in a parallel universe. Gives glimpses into its "past" that have yet to be revealed in the "real-time" storyline. Readers know that the exiles on Prism are still lost (presumed dead), and that the war-that-doesn't-exist-anymore between ESComm and ISC is still raging 50 years later.
