Data from Currey. Stated first edition. There is no ISBN in/on the book or jacket Per Currey, two states of copyright notice exist. This is the first state: the copyright page reads Copyright © 1971 by Ursula K. Le Guin. Note also that there are two jacket states, with and without the Newbery Honor Seal pasted on the front panel. [This can't be true for any 1971 printing as the award was for the 1972 NewBery] Publication month from the copyright page of the second [1972] printing, though a later Bantam paperback edition has the month as September
