Monthly magazine based in New York City January 1924 to 1950(?)

{{a|H. L. Mencken}} and George Jean Nathan (1882–1958) founded the magazine, as its editors, as or after they departed from The Smart Set. In the 1930s {{a|Lawrence E. Spivak}} served as business manager, acquired the magazine, and established {{publisher|Mercury Publications}} (which subsequently introduced Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine and Fantasy & Science Fiction).
