Mightiest Machine

Mightiest Machine is a science fiction novel by American author John W. Campbell Jr. It was originally serialized in five parts in Astounding Stories magazine from December 1934 to April 1935 and published in book form in 1947 by Hadley Publishing Co. The story follows Aarn Munro, a genius physicist born on Jupiter. Growing up under extreme gravity gave him exceptional strength and intellectual capacity. His adventures involve interstellar exploration and encounters with alien species across vast cosmic distances. Campbell returned to Munro's story in Incredible Planet, published in 1949 by Fantasy Press. The book is a fix-up novel collecting three related novelettes titled Incredible Planet, Interstellar Search and Infinite Atom. These sequels were originally rejected by Astounding Science Fiction magazine but expand the universe introduced in Mightiest Machine.
