A housekeeper working in a motel primarily used for quick sexual assignations spends much of her time reading romances, the sort she does not have in her mundane marriage. One day in entering a darkened hotel room to change the sheets, the combination of the darkness, and sparkles of light make her imagine she is in such a fantastical world. But, turning the lights on, the scene is revealed for the mundane after all.
Non-genre short story.
