A young woman gives confession to a Friar, who specifies her "penance of wearing my cord upon your naked flesh." She agrees to that, until he says that he "must first bind it upon you". She refuses, and when his actions are discovered, he is beaten. The narrator and his friends then debate the ethics of the tale.
Non-genre story, translated from tale XLI of "L'Hepaméron", 1560.
