- Issues 108-110 of the series were written by authors not particularly familiar with the series, and the disconnect with the rest of the series caused substantial fan complaints. This book (and possibly other around this time) includes an essay "as by Chiun" explaining, in-universe, how this happened.
- The copyright page contains the note "Special thanks and acknowledgement to James Mullaney and Daisy Snaggers ...", which is usually used to indicate authorship. The contribution of "Daisy Snaggers" is uncertain, and there is no other evidence that someone by that name co-authored the book, but, based on Mullaney's comments re: Destroyer #113 (http://jamesmullaney.com/destroyer113.html), it may be a reference to an editor (with a different name) with whom Mullaney had disagreements.
