The first 8 (front. plus seven) illustrate "The Hunting of the Snark: An Agony in Eight Fits". 27 (front. plus 26) illustrate the first part of the book, or Poems from "Rhyme and Reason" --that is, per Wikipedia, poems from the 1869 collection <i>Phantasmagoria and Other Poems</i>, also issued as <i>Rhyme? and Reason?</i>.
Two plates each illustrate the second and third parts of the collection, or poems from the two Alice books, and nine illustrate the last part, poems from <i>Sylvie and Bruno</i>.
