The Kalki device was drawn by Cabell per Hall's James Branch Cabell: A Complete Bibliography. Hall also indicates that it is generally accepted that this was the first edition printed with the Kalki device. The design was frequently printed directly on the book with different artwork for the dust-jacket. Many of the images for this title are those of the dust-jackets.
