The brilliant, lonely teenager Eddy starts coming up with ideas about time travel on the same afternoon he meets a schoolmate who's actually friendly. A future version of Eddy arrives with information intended to keep him from making a certain mistake; sure enough, the future is changed, and it's a different future self that arrives, then another, and another... But eventually teen-Eddy draws a different conclusion from the visitors than they expect him to.
