The story was erroneously nominated twice for the Kurd Laßwitz Preis award: in 1991 and 1996. The second nomination was a mistake because the prize's rules only allow one nomination per work. However, the second nomination was not withdrawn after the mistake had been discovered later in order to keep the award's documentation history consistent.
