Strange Story of a Traveler to Bethlehem

Note in The Fireside Book of Christmas Stories: "This story was printed as a news dispatch in the first column of page one in the Chicago Tribune, on Christmas Day, 1943. It was presented as having been written 'By Cornelius [As envisioned by the Rev. John Evans, Tribune Religious Editor].' The date line read: 'Bethlehem, Judea, Dec. 25—In the 36th Year of the Reign of Herod—[Special].'"
