'A Message from Mars' was translated to French by Paul Combes and published in serialized form in 'La Science Illustrée', december 1897 under Paul Combes' pseudonym, C. Paulon.
Subsequently, Brian Stableford translated the French version back to English, and published it in his Anthology Nemoville where he attributed it to C. Paulon, not realizing the original English work was by John Munro.
