Title "Afterwards" appears in one 1884 index to The Independent. The "Index" bound with July to December 1884 --in the U. Michigan copy viewed at HathiTrust-- contains the listing "Afterwards, Elizabeth Stuart Phelps, 193" under "Poetry" (Vol 36, p. vi). July to December span pp. 833-1668, which implies that the scope of the Index is 1884 only, and the listing refers to a publication during February 1884. (As of 2019-10-09, HathiTrust Digital Library does not hold the first half of 1884; nor any part of 1880, Vol 32.)
