First published: All Around Mag, Feb, 1916. According to the publisher's note in the ERBville Press edition (January 2013), a slightly edited version of the text appeared in "Boston Daily Globe" in 1929. The note also states that a word-by-word comparison of the 1955 version and the 1916 version shows significant changes and deletions of text. The ERBville Press edition used the 1916 and 1929 versions to recreate the author's preferred text (the changes are listed in an Appendix).
