Revised for the February 1982 Berkley edition.
"Brass and Gold", "Totem and Taboo", and "The Voice of the Sonar in My Vermiform Appendix" were replaced for later editions by "The Last Rise of Nick Adams", "The Freshman" and "Uproar in Acheron".
"Polytropical Paramyths" is an essay about the next three stories which are all classified that way: "Don't Wash the Carats", "The Sumerian Oath" and "Only Who Can Make a Tree?"
